THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF FERRARI IN AMERICA was celebrated on January 25th in Palm Beach Florida when the first F60 America was delivered this weekend to the delight of a discerning crowd of Ferrari collectors and enthusiasts during the 25th annual Palm Beach Cavallino Classic.
The red cover was pulled off the first F60 after a few words of welcome from Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s world-wide Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, and Edwin Fenech, the President & CEO of Ferrari North America.
This strictly limited-edition car, which was produced to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Ferrari in America, is the first of just ten to be delivered nationwide. The car pays homage to American clients’ great passion for both the V-12 engine and open-top driving. The F60 America’s bodywork adopts the classic North American Racing Team livery, and the special Ferrari 60th Anniversary Prancing Horse badge on the wheel arches appears on the tunnel in the cockpit.
Ferrari are well aware of the value of the American market to the brand, and so releasing a special edition car to commemorate the anniversary is a fitting gesture. Ferrari also used the launch to promote their Tailor Made service and the Ferrari Classiche program. Sub brands such as these are becoming increasingly important ways to support the enthusiasts and collectors who form the collector car community, with Ferrari Classiche supporting the classic Ferrari market by offering records and restoration services, and Tailor Made offering customization and personalization for new Ferraris.
Tailor Made was established by Lapo Elkann, grandson of Gianni Agnelli and style icon. It will be interesting to see how the Tailor Made cars perform in the collector marketplace.
This beautiful example of the F60 America was presented in Blu Nart livery with a Bianco Italia stripe and a red drivers seat. It looked instantly at home under the azure Florida sky.
